Device was easy to install in place of our old hunter system.Installation took approximately 30 minutes including the programmingInterface to Iphone is easy to use and well thought out. This device can be controlled by your phone android or AppleThe plus is you can also adjust settings right on the unit if neededSimplifies adjusting heads. You can trigger zone remotely for checking, no need to walk back to the box.Box seals well and is lockableGreat price and I would buy again.

Had some issues with my old Pro-C controller (installed in 2007) only working on program A. Wanted to update to a Wi-Fi one, so researched and found this Hydrawise HPC-400 controller. It came with base module for zones 1-4. Cool thing was I could use the HPC-300 module from my old controller for zones 5-7, so I did not have to buy an extra module (saved $42-48). All the terminals were one for one, so I just labeled all the wires disconnected and reconnected. I was impressed with how easy it was to swap. Setup was really easy as well. Nice interface, you can control from PC through the web, or via mobile phone or tablet. Probably saved myself about $350 by DIY.What a blessing, now I do not have to run back and forth between sprinklers and the controller in the garage when I am testing or troubleshooting. Hahaha.

The builder installed a Hunter Pro-C controller, which worked fine. However, I wanted something that was more versatile and convenient. Wow. What a nice surprise. Others have described this component well, but the interface on the phone was worth the purchase to me, and I am not a geek that loves technology for technology’s sake. Very intuitive set-up. Yes, it is as easy to convert the Pro-C to the HPC as others have said. Programming was easy peasy. Changing programming is so easy it almost seems like cheating. One note: when I first tested the system, my irrigation did not come on. I remembered that I have a master solenoid valve as well as zone valves. It is a simple toggle in the set-up menu and all is well. This system also has many built in weather adjustments you can use and a way to automatically cycle the zones that tend to have runoff to minimize wasted water. Really very capable system.

I already had a PCC controller (the one with the big blue knob) and “brain” in this unit was a plug-and-play swap out for the “brain” of the old unit.I especially like the smart features like how it automatically adjusts (longer, shorter, or fully cancelling) watering schedules based on the weather. No need for a local sensor or weather station, it uses its own links to the local weather data through the Internet. It was very easy to connect to my existing wifi, then it took a few minutes to set up each zone’s specific parameters, and I haven’t touched it since.

Received the product quickly and was packaged well.Installing the controller was very easy. Only one minor thing to watch for when connecting the sprinkler wires, they moved the common wire so it’s no longer next to the other wires. The new location is makes well with a paper “COM” tag. Everything else connects just like other Hunter controllers.Setting up the Hydrawise software and app was really straight forward, controller connected to network without issue. The app is pretty easy to setup and use but isn’t quite as polished as some of the other apps. However, it does offer a lot of control over your watering options.I had debated over this and the Rachio. The Rachio software is easier to use but the controller is very basic and feels pretty cheap. The Hunter controller is definitely of better build quality.

I was looking to upgrade our Pro-C model (with the dial and blue buttons) to be Wi-Fi enabled, so it’s easier to adjust programs and test zones without walking back and forth all the time. That upgrade is really just an HPC faceplate but is hard to find by itself, and when you do it’s almost the same price as this entire unit. So I bought this just to use the faceplate! (And if something ever happens to the main board of the Pro-C it’s nice to know we have a backup device that could replace it.)Swapping it into our Pro-C was a breeze: unplug the power, detach the ribbon cable, detach the old faceplate, attach the HPC one, attach the ribbon cable, and plug it back in. There’s a tiny touchscreen to get connected to your Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz only) and then you add the serial number to your Hydrawise account and you’re set. So much easier to program now, and the customizable temperature and precipitation adjustments give you more control.

I like that it connects to the weather through the internet and also my phone! It has saved water by shutting down on days predicted to rain!!

Replaced my old electromechanical timer. Can now trust my lawn gets watered as needed. I like being able to operate the system from my cellphone. Very feature rich operation.

It is a great thing if you are away you could turn it on or off with your cell phone. I said it up with the weather and it follows it if it rains it won’t turn on.

Simple to install with following the instructions. The quality of the unity is great, and it makes those non-intuitive sprinklers setting so much easier. You will love having control over your sprinklers from the phone. It is great also if you need to control while you are away!
