Great Controller! I now have 3 of these. One home and 2 rental properties. I was able to install them within 30 minutes or so. I recommend to not use the Advanced mode – the Standard Mode allows much more control over the system in my opinion. The system uses the weather forecast to suspend the system for rain or freezing temps so no need for sensors. Very customizable. The app is easy to use and so convenient. This truly saves me time and money from not having to be there physically. The reports are very useful as well! I can see when the system ran, how long for each station, and when it is scheduled to run.

I was looking for a WIFI irrigation controller to replace my outdoor Hunter programmable controller. I wanted a rugged outdoor controller that is easy to use and can stand the outdoor environment. After reviewing many controllers that are available on the market, I have selected the Hunter PRO-HC PHC-1200. Installing the controller was easy, and I find the fact that I have the app on my iPhone, iPad and online reassuring. It was easy to assign my local airport weather station to the app, and it took minutes to name all the zones and attach pictures to each zone. It’s incredibly easy to start each zone manually or just let the programed zones work automatically. I am expecting significant savings since the controller takes into account local weather conditions into effect. You can control how the controller operates considering local rainfall. The preset Predictive Watering adjustments on my controller are:1. Don’t water when today’s forecast temperature is less than 68 F2. Water 30% less when today’s forecast temperature is less than 77 F3. Water 30% more when today’s forecast temperature is above 86 F4. Don’t water when the chance of rain higher than 80 %5. Don’t water when today’s forecast wind speed is higher than 19 mph6. Use forecast temperature to predict smart wateringIncredible control power at your fingertips …

My former system had the wireless rain sensor break. Rather than pay for a new system, and have it installed [I no longer do ladders!], on a friend’s recommendation we bought the Hydrawise system, also replaced some aging heads with newer types that provide more uniform coverage] and had my irrigation guy install it. I love that it picks up on recent rainfall or rain fronts approaching and will shut off the scheduled run. No rain sensor needed. The set up was easy, and now either my wife or I can alter the schedule, or order up a run on one zone if she thinks a flower bed is in need or if I think a sunny hillside needs an extra dose. And when the temp is forecast to exceed a certain temp, it automatically increases spray time. the whole system is a no-brainer for me, and I am loving it after just a few days. I had a question after my tech guy left, e-mailed the customer support staff, and got a reply within a few hours that completely answered my question.

So far, no issues. This has been installed two weeks now.Connected up to the my router no problem.I found it easy to program. I have my ten zones set and named. We have had rain and the watering schedule has been halted per my settings.I bought the rain sensor as well as the box. I got the gutter clamp – it was not needed, one was in the sensor box as shipped. The timer box does not come with a power cable. It was not a big deal for me, I just pulled the one off of the old box, but something g to plan for.I am going to add the flow sensor. In the past, I have had heads blowup. I water starting @ 3am, this will help me detect a bad head once I know the normal zone totals.

I have been using the 6 zone model of this controller for 3 years without issue. This season I decided to connect my front and back yard zones on a single controller and this handled all 9 zones effortlessly. I can fire off a single zone, have them all zones rune in sequence, or create any number of custom schedules to handle flowerbeds, new grass, or odd/even watering days, etc.. all from my phone. This is a rock solid system and can be purchased here on Amazon cheaper than it can be provided by the landscaping company. I highly recommend this controller!

I bought this unit to replace an existing unit. I watched a YouTube video on how to install it. Took photographs of the inside of the existing unit. Replaced the existing unit with this Hunter unit in about an hour. The software interacts with the Internet such that if it’s going to be hot, it adds watering time. I installed a rain gauge with it and if it does rain it will cancel watering that day. It’s AI for your sprinkler system.

I had a 12-year-old Hunter Pro-C that finally bit the dust, giving me a great excuse to upgrade to a WiFi controller. Before the 12-zone Pro-HC arrived, I had labeled the existing wires and took the Pro-C off the wall. Installation of the hardware was about 30 minutes and learning/configuring/testing the system took another hour.Amazon: Got the new Pro-HC less than 24 hours after ordering and had it up and running a few hours later.Seller: Jamie from Sprinkler Parts Wholesale left a nice note in the box about their commitment to service and promised to answer any questions promptly. The replacement went flawlessly so I did not need to ask for any help.Hunter: Great product overall and no regrets with the purchase. One small gripe about the bottom mounting holes which were about 3/8″ off from the old Pro-C. Not a big problem but added 10 minutes to the installation.Hydrawise App: I’ve read many negative reviews about the app but I don’t see their issue. Remember, this was designed for professional landscaping companies to remotely manage customer systems. Sure, there is a learning curve for homeowners but what doesn’t these days? I suggest watching one of the numerous Youtube videos on the app.

had used a Pro-HC for5 years and it failed. It would acknowledge that there was a WiFi reading – plenty of ‘bars’ for signal, but would not connect to my phone, nor to my system managers hookup; though it kept a record of water being irrigated (as if it was following the proscribed schedule) – the actual watering was sporadic – some times it might, other times it might not. Could always override the system by tapping the areas that I wanted to water – in real time. So got tired of that nonsense – called my installer/manager and he had the same issues, and was told by Hunter it was my problem, not the controller.. Bought a new one; had it installed; it works just fine – – – so give it a “qualified” five star, since it is doing what it is supposed to do. Hopefully it won’t fail me as the last one did. By the way, Hunter kept telling me it was my WiFi and did nothing to help the situation. Of that I am displeased – that’s why the one-star for tech support.

I replaced my old 2003 Hunter Pro-C Controller (green buttons) with this Controller. Doing it myself saved me over $600 if I had my Irrigation Contractor sell and install the PRO-HC PHC-1200 controller. It wasn’t difficult to do plus my old rain sensor (non-hunter) still works with the new controller. My best advise when swapping out your old controller is to take photos of how the wiring is connected plus use mailing labels as a way to identify which zone each wire connects to. As you remove the wire for each zone label it so you know where to connect it to on your new controller. The first two photos are my old controller and the remaining three are the new PRO-HC PHC-1200 controller. The WiFi seems to been working well. I had no connection issues and fairly strong signal. I like the Hydrawise software and Android app. I can easily turn on/off zones without needing to go the garage or controller to do so. Also I believe with the added feature using weather forecast I will save on water bill as well effectively water my lawn & plants.

  10. Ouch

My old controller died after 13 years. I wanted a new one that had WI-FI and app capabilities. This one does all of this and more. I love that you can set it up not to come on if there’s a certain % of rain chances, or if we’ve had enough rain. No need for a rain sensor! I usually don’t set the timer to run on its own. I can just my phone now to run it manually now. It’s great for when we’re out of town. It’s a great buy!
