The X2 controller continues the legacy set by the popular X-Core with the same set of reliable and highly efficient capabilities and brings irrigation management into the next generation by providing advanced water-saving features using Hunter’s industry-leading wireless Hydrawise technology.
With X2, you can keep the familiar dial-based programming offered by X-Core, or you can upgrade to cloud-based Hydrawise management that is fast and easy using a helpful setup wizard and a smartphone or desktop device. Hydrawise maximizes water savings by automatically adjusting irrigation schedules based on local weather measurements sourced from the internet.
X2 ensures healthy, green landscapes by making site management more convenient and profitable. You can quickly set irrigation schedules and manage an unlimited number of controllers with real-time status updates via Hydrawise software.

This is eady to use. I was replacing and old one and this one was so easybto connect and install. Just be sure to take a picture of your connectors. Great price!

This system will water longer on hot days, less on cold ones. Very easy to program, and the app allows me to turn on one station if I’ve been transplanting stuff in one of the garden beds.

I have installed and used several brands of irrigation sprinkler controllers on my 1 acre yard over the last 15 years.This is the best of them all.I have 8 zones, with a 2.5 HP pump (With a relay between the timer and the pump, of course ) pulling lawn irrigation water up from a well.The actual programming is typical of others, but works better, and works more reliably than any other programmer I have ever used.In fact, it works so good, I am contemplating getting the remote control stop start accessory gizmo, which cost about as much as this programmer.

Installed to replace an older hunter unit, easy swap out (less than an hour), fully compatible with older Hunter valve controls, easy to set up connectivity, program schedules, and more. On-line connectivity to weather forecast and history has significantly improved water use v dependence on older, flaky rain sensor. I don’t see any reason to spend more than the cost of this unit + the on-line connector board, with the Hydrawise app it is quite powerful in terms of programming.

The X-2 was very easy to install when replacing an older non-Hunter controller. And the easy of setting up the programs was much better. Highly recommend if you are replacing an older controller.

Sadly living on a hill we are prone to lightning strikes and sure enough a recent one took out our cable and fried our sprinkler controller. The same thing happened 10 years ago. Fortunately I was able to have the new Hunter X2 delivered next day and got it up and running successfully.I really like the wifi compatibility and the fact that it now has onboard memory – no fiddly back up battery needed. Other than that it does exactly what it needs to – operates 7 zones across 1.5 acres with no issues.Thanks Hunter!

Over the past 20 years I had Rain Bird and Orbit irrigation controllers but they never lasted more than a few years before failing in one manner or another and online support was geared more for selling new products.Hunter Industries is geared for the commercial market and has excellent online product support. The Hydrawise X2 8 channel has a feature that allowed me to eliminate a second controller. The feature is the option to, per channel, control a well pump motor. Six of my channels use water from a well but two use city water. Before I needed two controllers to do this. The build quality of this controller is excellent with great online support via the Hunter Industries and YouTube. I have been truly impressed by this company.

I bought this to replace a perfectly good Hunter controller because I wanted to try the WiFi capability. The WiFi adapter is sold separately. So basically without the WiFi adapter it operates just like the controller I replaced. I ended up purchasing the WiFi adapter. When the WiFi adapter is installed and set up it disables the manual controller operation. If you remove the WiFi adapter or lose WiFi it switches back to the manual controller operation and watering schedule. For me the WiFi capability works great. The Hydrawise phone app allows me to remotely operate each zone without the need for a separate remote. That comes in handy when I’m testing out my system or replacing sprinkler heads. I set up a WiFi based watering schedule and also setup seasonal adjustments for each month. So far it has worked great for me. Be aware that if you don’t want to use WiFi you just need to set up a Program/Watering Schedule just like you normally would. If you decide to use WiFi you will need to set up a separate WiFi based watering schedule. They are 2 separate programs but only one is enabled at a time depending if your’re using WiFi or not.
