The X2 controller continues the legacy set by the popular X-Core with the same set of reliable and highly efficient capabilities and brings irrigation management into the next generation by providing advanced water-saving features using Hunter’s industry-leading wireless Hydrawise technology.
With X2, you can keep the familiar dial-based programming offered by X-Core, or you can upgrade to cloud-based Hydrawise management that is fast and easy using a helpful setup wizard and a smartphone or desktop device. Hydrawise maximizes water savings by automatically adjusting irrigation schedules based on local weather measurements sourced from the internet.
X2 ensures healthy, green landscapes by making site management more convenient and profitable. You can quickly set irrigation schedules and manage an unlimited number of controllers with real-time status updates via Hydrawise software.

Not the 1st time owning a Hunter irrigation controller so Hunter controller becomes a natural choice for its reliability. Yet again this one is EZ to use ESPECIALLY when paired with WIFI wand on Hydrawise app. We installed the controller ourselves by watching Youtube video. Methodically label all your zones especially for those who have many zones! EZ to install. And buy the WIFI wand with this unit which makes scheduling much EZ on Hydrawise.

Amazon deal was better than what I have seen elsewhere. This was a standard, reliable controller – I have not put in the WiFi module because it is another hassle. If you have it mounted make sure it is on an external weather protected location (rain water kills the transformer) and on a good GFCI circuit – electrical strikes will kill this machine

The Hunter controller works great. However, the Wi-Fi connector leaves a lot to be desired for after an hour of tinkering it still does not connect.

Not easy to install. takes about two hours to wire it up even though it was replacing an older hunter unit.

Added another station dedicated to the garden so I needed a bigger clock. This is a 14 station clock with wi-Di expansion capability. Not cheap but able to add wi-Fi later.

The Hunter X2 is phenomenal for what it is. It’s not a consumer gadget. You get all of the power and control you would expect from a commercial-grade product (up to 14 zones!) with the ease-of-use you would expect from a consumer product. My landscaper installed this thing for me, and then I purchased the separate X2 WiFi controller that is plug-n-play. I love this thing! I use the mobile app to run my sprinklers and I love the reliability of this thing! I had the gro WiFi controller by Scott’s in my previous home. While it was cool looking, the WiFi antenna was weak at best. It kept disconnecting and was very unreliable. Never had an issue with my Hunter device! It does what I programmed it to do, including smart watering on its own!
