    Love it
I have been roasting coffee for about a year now. I started out with one with a very small (150g) capacity, that works well and is mostly automatic – you set it to the roast level you want and it handles it from there. From there I moved on to the roasting pan types with a stirrer, and a Gene Cafe. The roasting pan with the stirrer was ok, but you really have to use a LOT less than the capacity they tell you or you get a really uneven roast. Gene Cafe was generally pretty good but is limited to about 250g per roast. The worst thing about it is, it has a very long cooling cycle, as in the cooling cycle is longer than the roast. While you can emergency stop it, they tell you this burns out the heating elements sooner. So I wasn’t really looking for a new roaster, but I wasn’t pleased that the super long cooling cycle had burned my Monsoon Malabar beans, and ideally I wanted something faster to do the roasts and easier to clean.Enter this, which is known as the “Skywalker” roaster. This is actually less than the Gene Cafe, AND it addresses pretty much perfectly every improvement I wanted. As a further plus if you are into that, you can get this connected to Artisan.I have run 3 batches through it, 454g each (1 lb). There are 3 modes and to start with I decided to try Automatic mode. I roasted Brazilian beans that had been wet processed and I wanted a medium roast so I picked 22 as the program to run. I had very few clicks to do to get the beans roasted. It is very nice how you can drop the beans right into the tray as soon as the roast is done and from there into your bean cooler, which I did (you can also run cool mode but that will take 3 to 5 minutes it says). I got a nice even uniform medium roast. Cleanup really could not be easier as I just dumped the chaff collector, used the little brush to sweep it and then a small vac to take care of what was left. Easy peasy.I did the 3 batches in about an hour where with the Gene Cafe it would have been twice as long or more. The ONE caveat I will mention is I use a fume collector like you use for soldering stations that I point at the top of the exhaust on the unit. When I turned it off, smoke was coming through and it probably would have been decently smoky. I recommend either using the tubing to vent it outside, roast outside, or get something like the fume collector so your house isn’t full of smoke. For $500 this is fantastic. Honestly better than I expected. Parts like new filters for the exhaust can be purchased fairly inexpensively on AliExpress. There are lots of youtube videos and reddits to check out for how to make the most of it.I recommend this roaster.

    Burns Beans
Seems like a good design but I roasted two batches of very expensive Geisha coffee and it burnt both batches. I used two different medium roast profiles, the problem isn’t the profile, the beans must get stuck inside because there is a very small percentage of beans that get totally black. Even after picking them out the burnt flavor is locked inside the rest of the beans.

    So far so good!
Just roasted my very first batch, some Sumatra Mandehling G1 Karo, automatic, profile 33 for a nice even dark roast. Turned out very well for a first attempt. I’ll try assist mode next time and dump maybe 90 seconds later for a city plus. I’ve been looking for a decent roaster for a very long time and so far I’m very pleased with this unit. Considering the features and cost, it is very hard to beat.

    Love my New Coffee Roaster
I have been roasting green coffee beans for well over 10 years – started with a Behmor 1600 and most recently a Behmor 2000+. My Behmor quit and I did a lot of research looking for a replacement. I finally chose this Precision Coffee Roaster and am happy to report it has exceeded my expectations. It will roast a full pound (like the Behmor) but I usually roast batches of ½ pound or slightly more. I love being able to pull out a sample and see what the beans look like at various stages. I roast in a small utility room with an open window and had no issues with smoke. I just roasted my first batch in the automatic mode and I will stick with that for awhile then try out the assist mode and manual modes. Compared to my previous roasters this one is much easier to keep clean especially cleaning out the chafe tray. It is well made with quality materials and was delivered quickly. I highly recommend this roaster for the novice or experienced roaster.

It works as expected, Best 500gram roaster for the price
I have run about 20 pounds of coffee with this machine and will have to say it works great. 2 Things i would like to mention. It does have a smoke filter box that sits on top of the exhaust. It is not smokeless as advertised. it only reduces the smoke and has a fan inside that turns on during the cooling process. It will need a filter change often and where am i supposed to buy one? This machine is best used without the smoke filter and use the exhaust pipe it came with. The cooling process is automatic. The machine is already hot and for a fan to try to cool the beans is a slow process. It is best to let the beans run in the first 1 min. and then transfer the beans to a bean cooler to stop the roasting processes.

Perfect Roaster For the New Coffee Enthusiasts
I have not been disappointed by this roaster, the unit is well constructed and durable. I started roasting using an air roaster but learned quickly that’s child’s play… So I ordered this roaster and have found it to be top quality and extremely versatile in roasting a variety of beans to various stages without fail. The unit is a great value for the money consistently Roast every batch. The customer service is exceptional they are eager to answer any questions or provide information on how to better use the machine. You cannot go wrong purchasing this roaster!

    Great setup for home
This is a great machine for home use. It doesn’t take a lot of space, it is lower wattage means you can plug it in safely, it has a dedicated exhaust get the smoke out of window for example. It is silent and quick. It is easy to use – the preset programs are great for my taste, but I like light-medium roast and didn’t try the dark roast settings. That said, it is customizable and the accompanying manual is very good. I don’t know whether it will last long, but I’m hopeful because the results are better than air roasted coffee and it is convenient to use. The beans are baked at the right temperatures and thus not oily and won’t jam your grinder – another plus for automatic espresso machines users.

This is the only roaster I found that has all of the features a professional roaster would have, yet at a very affordable price:- Drum Roaster- Dropping beans mechanism- Cooling tray that can be removed for an easy beans transfer.- Manual control of the electrical heat source and fan- Smoke suppressor (that does a phenomenal job) as well as two pipes that also come with the roster in case you want to use those instead.I have experience great customer service so far. Make sure to get the model that has the quartz tube (comes already with the newly manufactured roasters), otherwise you will have some burned beans in the roast. It has automated modes for beginners. You can still choose to do your roast manually or in an assisted mode where you control when to stop the roast. The automated modes are a bit fast but still do a good job. The end result tends to be a bit darker than what you are aiming for, however, this can be controlled if you are roasting in a manual mode or assisted mode. Make sure to lead the roaster with at closer to 350g-400g to get best results. Loading it with 100g for sample roasting would make the roast very quick.Best roaster I found for its price. Recommended.
